Mathematics and Statistics Research Competition 2020

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the 2020 Mathematics and Statistics Research Competition!

The quality of the submissions was very high and many projects excelled in both mathematics and creativity.

It was therefore decided to increase the number of finalists to ten. These ten finalists will be invited to present their projects via an online Webinar in October to an audience of academics from the School of Mathematics and Statistics and the students’ family and friends.

At the end of the presentations the judges will announce the top winning senior and the top winning intermediate project. The two top projects will be awarded $1500 and the other eight projects will be awarded $600. After the finals presentation the projects will be hosted on The School of Mathematics and Statistics website.

Once again, well done to everyone who took part. We hope you enjoyed engaging in some mathematical and statistical research.

Congratulations in particular to the top ten winning projects.
