Proceedings from MATRIX hosted workshop in prestigious Lecture Note Series

The proceedings of a 2019 advanced geometry workshop held at the University of Melbourne have been published in the celebrated London Mathematical Society Lecture Note Series.

The Australian-German Workshop on Differential Geometry in the Large was a fortnight long international workshop held at the University’s Creswick campus, hosted by the Mathematics Research Institute, MATRIX. The proceedings are now available.

Our own Associate Professor Diarmuid Crowley of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Melbourne, was one of the meeting organisers and also co-editor of the book.

The workshop was supported by a strategic grant from the University of Melbourne of $20,000 in the form of International Research Training Group funding aimed at strengthening UoM-German ties in mathematics, plus the Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute, the Australian Mathematical Society, La Trobe University and the Ian Potter Foundation, as well as international support from the National Science Foundation of the USA and generous support from the German Research Foundation's national priority scheme, "Geometry at Infinity".

MATRIX is a partnership between the University of Melbourne, Monash University, Australian National University and associate members, the University of Queensland and Australian Centre of Excellence in Mathematical and Statistical Frontiers.
