Extra Information
Yulia Alexandr’s research uses algebra and geometry to study problems in machine learning and statistics. In machine learning, she studies the structure and verification of neural networks, with the goal of providing provable guarantees about their behaviour. In statistics, she studies conditional independence and the algebraic structure of statistical models, as well as geometric perspectives on data and their connections to data privacy. More broadly, she is interested in applying algebra to problems across a wide range of areas, including phylogenetics and other areas of the life sciences.
