The Peter Hall lecture is held in honour of Professor Peter Hall who made profound and extremely creative contributions in mathematical statistics and probability theory.

International Women in Mathematics Day lecture
In celebration of International Women in Mathematics Day on 12 May, a public lecture is held in honour of Maryam Mirzakhani, the first woman to be awarded the Fields Medal, the highest award given in mathematics.

2025 Pi Day lecture
In celebration of Pi Day on 14 March, A/Prof Katherine Seaton from Latrobe University gave a talk titled ‘Mathematics, Art, and Creativity’ to launch the CARMA – MATRIX Math Art Competition.
2025 International Women in Mathematics Day lecture
In celebration of International Women in Mathematics Day on 12 May, Professor Barbara Holland from the University of Tasmania gave a talk titled 'Learn to be a killjoy: How to think like a statistician'.
