We work with primary and secondary schools to run a range of popular mathematics and statistics programs, including incursions, competitions and professional development opportunities for teachers.

Mathematics and Statistics Research Competition
The School of Mathematics and Statistics Research Competition provides school-aged students with the opportunity to understand what it means to conduct mathematics and solve mathematical problems.

Micro Mathematicians
Micro Mathematicians is an enrichment program aimed at advanced Y5/6, Y7/8 and Y9/10 students who have an interest in maths beyond the classroom. The program offers a range of free virtual and in-person workshops throughout the year and new workshops are continually being added.

School Maths Olympics
The School Maths Olympics runs each year on the University's Open Day. This team event gives students the opportunity to compete against other schools.

We run professional development days targeted at empowering VCE teachers to engage with the content areas of VCE mathematics.

Our Outreach Team exists to encourage engagement in mathematics and statistics at all levels by promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to the wider community – especially underrepresented groups.
